Event Information
In keeping with current state, national, and local recommendations and for the health and safety of our runners, volunteers, family members, friends, sponsors and community, we have decided to cancel the Run the Creek 5K scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2020.
Given that this is an unprecedented situation, and the money raised having already been used for race supplies (shirts, ribbons, awards, run numbers, permits, etc), refunds will not be possible. Rescheduling also isn’t an option due to the lack of available dates and the Charlotte city limit on number of events allowed per weekend. Any additional funds remaining will be donated directly to Batten Disease Support and Research Association (BDSRA).
Race shirts will be available on Tuesday, March 17th from 4-7 at Charlotte Running Company (10129 Perimeter Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28216) & Wednesday, March 18th from 9am-8pm at Highland Creek Sports Club (6616 Clarke Creek Parkway).
We know this is not ideal, but safety of our athletes, volunteers, and communities come first. We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we all navigate this situation. Please be safe out there.

This event will be timed using a bibtag timing chips. The timing chip will be on the back of the run number. Please make sure your number is clearly visible on the front of your body. This will not need to be turned back in after the race – it is disposable. It will be a chip time start. That means your time will not start until you reach the start timing mat. Make sure your number is clearly visible on the front of your body. Gun Time is the time the gun/horn started the event. Chip Time is the time your chip crossed the start timing mat. The awards for this event are based on Chip Time.
