Important Details

Race Description

The 6th Annual C2 Obstacle Trail Run (formerly C2 Survival Race) presented by CPI Security and Peak 10 is a 3+ mile trail run and youth 1-mile fun run with obstacles along the way that will challenge and inspire you. With a refreshed obstacle layout and new physical challenges along both courses, 2017 will not disappoint! Last year, C2 had record participation and the Y wants you, your family, your co-workers, your fitness buddies, etc. to come out and show your competitive side! Whether you participate in the individual, team or youth division, you will overcome obstacles, breakdown barriers and finish strong! This event is geared towards all levels of fitness and welcomes large and small companies, churches and schools to unite and reawaken the inner child within each of us. Stick around for post race food and enjoy additional YMCA Camp Thunderbird activities like Zip Line, Water Slide and Paddlesports with the purchase of an activity pass: ($10 / adult (16+ years), $5 / youth).

With each step along the picturesque trails of YMCA Camp Thunderbird, C2 participants are changing children’s lives for the better. The proceeds from C2 Obstacle Trail Run benefit the YMCA Annual Campaign which serves under resourced children in the Steele Creek area. The YMCA of Greater Charlotte provides programs and services to help subsidize youth development programs like camp, dance, sports and afterschool to those who need assistance. Our Community. Your Impact. Their Future.

YMCA events offer a valuable and unique marketing opportunity for businesses, while providing a tax-deductible way for our business partners to support our mission. For sponsorship opportunities, please contact Jessie Lindberg at 704-716-4645 or Jessie.Lindberg@ymcacharlotte.org

C2 Obstacle Trail Run participants will receive a participant shirt. Shirts are guaranteed to C2 participants who register before the early bird pricing deadline: August 15 at 11:59PM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I run with my child who is signed up for the Youth 1-Mile Obstacle Fun Run?

Yes, Parents of Youth 1 Mile Obstacle Fun Run participants may follow alongside your 5-14 year old as he/she completes the obstacles on the 1-mile youth run or move around the course to watch him from a distance. Parents are not allowed to assist their child or do the obstacle for them. The youth course does not go across the bridge on the trails so it is in view for parents and spectators to follow along to keep them in their site if they choose. There is a water obstacle, but it is age appropriate for kids and we do have a lifeguard in the water and on land. Also, if there are any obstacles that youth or adults do not feel they can complete or would like to avoid, they can do burpees instead.

Can you tell me what the obstacles are?

There are about 20-30 obstacles on the 3 mile course. Some are built obstacles like A-walls, Decline Walls, Balance Teeter Totter while others are agility obstacles such as mountain climbers, wall squats, low sand pit crawl, etc.

Is the 3-Mile Obstacle Trail Run suitable for beginners?

The course is definitely suitable for beginners as you can make it as challenging or as fun as you want it to be. Many participants choose our race as their first obstacle course event!

Are the C2 obstacles required?

If there are any obstacles you don’t feel you can complete or would prefer to avoid you can opt out and do a few burpees instead.
